This is my 21st blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project. Today (May 1st 2015)
I have finished working on Shot 04 in scene 02, where cenreotl is reaching is hand out towards the door. This is what I had done on the scene  ... 

As you can see ... this shot has finally completed. All that's left to do in this scene will be the shot where Centeotl grab the dorr handle and opens it. Other than that yesterday (April 30th 2015) I was able to finish the shot where the bell rings for lunch. I had to re-do that shot (just the vibration of the bell) all because I had somehow lost the shot, but it is all done now.  Here's is what I had done for that scene ...

So basically this was what I worked on for today.

Project Deity Academy Blog #46

This is my 20th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project. Today (April 29th 2015)
I am still working on Shot 04 in scene 02, where cenreotl is reaching is hand out towards the door. This is what I have worked on the scene so far ... 

It's been tough  but I have managed to finish it in the end. Other than that there are still more shots left for me to do.

Project Deity Academy Blog #45

This is my 19th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project. Today (April 28th 2015)
is the first day back for Term 2 and I am still working on Shot 04 in scene 02, where cenreotl is reaching is hand out towards the door. This is what I have worked on the scene so far ... 

It's not much but  this was what I have been working on for today.  I had some trouble in doing the second and third drawing (from top to bottom). It took awhile to get it on model.  Other than that I was told to hand in Scene 05 shot 01 but I accidentally lost the whole shot so I had to redraw it again. I won't be  Working on it until I have finished this shot, of course.

Project Deity Academy Blog #44

This is my 18th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project. Today (April 23rd 2015) I have started on my 4th shot in scene 02, where cenreotl is reaching is hand out towards the door and this is what i did 

until my director told me this was not the way he want his hand to move and decide to give me a lecture (in person next week) on how to animate him. Looks like I have to work on another shot instead for now. Other than that this was what I had worked on for today.

Project Deity Academy Blog #43

This is my 17th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project. Today (April 20th 2015) I have started on my next scene that the producer told me to do. It is the scene where Centeotl stands in front of the classroom door and with my director permission we had deicded to put some blinking in it.

Firstly I was told to do this key

where I had to "re-draw" it a lot of times until

 And the I used this "crappy" reference (what Bryn calls it)

to help me with his eye blinks and this was

Project Deity Academy Blog #41

This is my 15th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project.Today (April 17th 2015) I have started working on my first animation scene and this was what I am and still working on

It's not much but this time the bell (god teacher as the bell) is vibrating with the circle thing hitting it.
I didn't do much after that. So this afternoon I'll be working on personal projects before doing more school tomorrow (April 18th 2015) to which it includes:

1. Redo my storyboard of my pitch film

having it all labled correctly with camera type, duration

and shot munbers

2. start working on the keys and breaks for 

my group project scenes

Project Deity Academy Blog #40 - Double posts #02

This is my 14th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project.Today (April 16th 2015) I have started working on my first animation scene and this was what I am and still working on

Other than that I was in charge in getting the voice actors and voice actress to sign the talent release form to which I have been buzzing around like a bee getting that done. Today we (director and I) was able to do some voice acting recordings of the voice actor (named Jono) as Ares, and this is the finalised model sheet of Ares (drawn and finalised by Leigh and Bryn)

 And yesterday (April 15th 2015) we had a callback for Anubis to whom Jesse (3rd year 3D DDM) and Liam (3rd year 3D DDM) both did their recordings. Jesse was the one who was chosen as the voice actor for Anubis and this is the finalised model sheet of him (drawn and finalised by Bryn)

Project Deity Academy Blog #39 - Double posts

This is my 13th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project.Yesterday (April 15th 2015) I have completed another layout for scene 04 shot 02 which is a new scene that i started to work on Tuesday and managed to finish it just yesterday. This is some screenshots to the layout scene 

It seems that this time the images are in order. Also on the same day I have been working on some backgrounds as well with some help from the director himself. They are rough including the line art version of it as well.

Project Deity Academy Blog #38

This is my 12th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project.Today (April 14th 2015) I continue working on my layout scene (scene 4) which is the same scene that I have done last friday but with some new things added to it which is this

The images are not in order but this is what I have working on. Other than that the layout for this scene (scene 04) is finally complete and now I have another layout to do, to which it has to be finished by TOMORROW! (the deadline that were given to me from my director) and there seem to be a tiny problem I don't have flash to finish at home, so I'll need to whatever I can to finish it up at school. The new layout scene that I was told to do was Scene 02 (it's the scene where the god teacher (form as a door) turns into his humanoid form and tells Ares off (but there's more to that scene). This is what I have started working on

Project Deity Academy Blog #37

This is my 11th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project.Today (April 13th 2015) I continue working on my layout scene (scene 4) which is the same scene that I have done last friday but with some new things added to it which is this 

The images are not in order but this is what I have working on. Later in the afternoon I had a sign-off meeting with the tutors about the film to which there were some parts that needs to be done. And I was told to scan in the sign-off sheet but I was not able to do that at school so I scanned it at home and it turned out side-ways (I still need to work out how to scan it the right way around). Also tonight I helped out with the film festival summaries stuff, to which I just need to add the rules and regulations to the film festivals that catches our eyes and this is what I had helped out with ...

In this link it has the regulations  to which it will cost up to $100 CAD dollars if the film is longer than 60 minutes, but it will cost CAD $40 if the film is less than 60 minutes. All films must be presented on a Blu-ray disc or DVD by January 1st to July 6th if the film is above 60 minutes. If the film is less than 60 minutes it will have to done by January 1st to June 15th. There is also a third deadline (August 3rd) to which is the final deadline that the film has to handed in by. On that day they will process the final product of the film.

In this link it has the entry form to enter the student montreal film festival. For our film “Deity Academy” to be able to enter the festival, we must be a student studying in schools or university and is currently in production working on the film. The format of the film have to be exported out as either a DCP, Blu-ray, DVD or a  ProRes 422 file. As for the registration the money (CAD $40) has to paid in advance by JUNE 5, 2015. After the payment has been made, the form will need to be filled out and  if needed ,enclose printed documents or a CD-ROM with synopsis,

credits, technical information, a still from the film.Once we have received a confirmation letter about  the short film, we will need to provide a still of the film for the catalogue to be sent to the e-mail address attached in the letter. When it comes to the submission of the film, the may not withdrawn from the festival itself once it has been accepted. Also the “film” can not be shown on the internet or in another festival in Canada and we may submit more than one films.

Show me shorts

Now this one is a NZ film festival a great way to show your work in a large array of talent as long as the film excels 2 minutes you can enter deadline are by May. These films are looking for upcoming talent and Peter Jackson is known to view these films. Last years animation shorts were very arty and I believe our film will give the animation category some pizaz the animated category needs!

In this link it has the rules and regulations that we must follow when submitting our short film to “Show me shorts film festival”. It says that the film video can be any genre and music videos are allowed as well. The film are to be no less than 2 minutes and no more than 20 minutes in length (including end credits). The film itself must be completed after July 2013 and it can’t be shown on the internet. Since the film is already in english we don’t need to worry about the subtitles, because if the film is not in english it must be subtitled in english. The cost for the film festival varies from earlybird to the extended deadline. Here is the cost as follows:

Earlybird Deadline: 15 April 2015 (shorts US$25 / music videos US$10)

Regular Deadline: 15 May 2015 (shorts US$30 / music videos US$15)

Late Deadline: 15 June 2015 (shorts US$35 / music videos US$20)

Extended Deadline: 1 July 2015 (shorts US$40 / music videos US$25)

If the film is not completed in time we will need to get permission to either submit a incomplete film or have an extension granted.

And as you can see ... there is a lot of writing that needs to be done. It's a good thing that my director (Bryn [I have finally spell his name right]) helped me out with the last one so I can write up this blog.

Project Deity Academy Blog #36

This is my 10th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project.Today (April 10th 2015) I have started on my first ever layout scene (scene 4) which is this

This is the scene where Centeotl and Ares is having a little examination after their world creation lesson. More updates will be posted about this scene on monday (April 13th 2015) .
And also today I have completed the first (front view) expression sheet for centeotl

 
Not just that I have about at least 1 more page of expressions to do before I can move on to the last 2 of the 4 main characters and repeat the process.
