Project Deity Academy Blog #37

This is my 11th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project.Today (April 13th 2015) I continue working on my layout scene (scene 4) which is the same scene that I have done last friday but with some new things added to it which is this

The images are not in order but this is what I have working on. Later in the afternoon I had a sign-off meeting with the tutors about the film to which there were some parts that needs to be done. And I was told to scan in the sign-off sheet but I was not able to do that at school so I scanned it at home and it turned out side-ways (I still need to work out how to scan it the right way around). Also tonight I helped out with the film festival summaries stuff, to which I just need to add the rules and regulations to the film festivals that catches our eyes and this is what I had helped out with ...

In this link it has the regulations  to which it will cost up to $100 CAD dollars if the film is longer than 60 minutes, but it will cost CAD $40 if the film is less than 60 minutes. All films must be presented on a Blu-ray disc or DVD by January 1st to July 6th if the film is above 60 minutes. If the film is less than 60 minutes it will have to done by January 1st to June 15th. There is also a third deadline (August 3rd) to which is the final deadline that the film has to handed in by. On that day they will process the final product of the film.

In this link it has the entry form to enter the student montreal film festival. For our film “Deity Academy” to be able to enter the festival, we must be a student studying in schools or university and is currently in production working on the film. The format of the film have to be exported out as either a DCP, Blu-ray, DVD or a  ProRes 422 file. As for the registration the money (CAD $40) has to paid in advance by JUNE 5, 2015. After the payment has been made, the form will need to be filled out and  if needed ,enclose printed documents or a CD-ROM with synopsis,
credits, technical information, a still from the film.Once we have received a confirmation letter about  the short film, we will need to provide a still of the film for the catalogue to be sent to the e-mail address attached in the letter. When it comes to the submission of the film, the may not withdrawn from the festival itself once it has been accepted. Also the “film” can not be shown on the internet or in another festival in Canada and we may submit more than one films.

Show me shorts

Now this one is a NZ film festival a great way to show your work in a large array of talent as long as the film excels 2 minutes you can enter deadline are by May. These films are looking for upcoming talent and Peter Jackson is known to view these films. Last years animation shorts were very arty and I believe our film will give the animation category some pizaz the animated category needs!

If the film is not completed in time we will need to get permission to either submit a incomplete film or have an extension granted.

And as you can see ... there is a lot of writing that needs to be done. It's a good thing that my director (Bryn [I have finally spell his name right]) helped me out with the last one so I can write up this blog.

Plan for the rest of the day:
- save some energy for tomorrow set of work
Please look forward to the next blog post.

Project Deity Academy Blog #35

This is my 9th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project.Yesterday (April 8th 2015) I have somehow finished a expression sheet of Centeotl ...
but according to my director (Byrn) I do need to exaggerate them a bit more and he helped me with the finishing touches and as well taught me how to make the expressions more exaggerated. This is what he had done to help me with drawing Centeotl's expressions today (April 9th 2015):

There will be a update on Centeotl's expression sheet (re-do) later tomorrow. Also today together with my director and my fellow team member savin, we took part in helping out with the final voice recording for Centeotl. The voice actor name is Josh and we basically did what a voice actor needed to do from the final script lines (in lots of takes) to sound effects (like wimpering).

Project Deity Academy Blog #33 - Voice acting auditions

This is my 7th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project. Due to the last 3 days for not doing any work, today (April 7th 2015) I have managed to do some work for the auditions to which it took up almost the entire day and I have one more audition to do for just tomorrow.
Here is the people who auditioned for the 4 main characters in Deity Academy:

TuckAres and Anubis
Jonno Ares and Anubis
CraigHorrace (god teacher)
MikeNezha
VinnieCenteotl and Ares
kelly - Centeotl
Cade - Nezha
Kirsty (me) Nezha

When i auditoned for my part for Nezha I was only able to say just this dialogue piece:
"Hey look what the corn guy did"
But when I tried out the first dialogue piece for Nezha it was mouthful for me to say it all. Especially this one:
“I can kill dragons and walk on water and weild a spear and have shoes made of FIRE!!
I can take myself apart and give my bones and skin to people, and I can come back from the dead and turn into a ball of flesh and and beat up demons
I have my own temple and I'm made of lotus roots and I cure crippling sicknesses! and I travel the world spitting RAINBOWS!!"
[Anubis covers Nezha's face in a cloth so the rest of the dialogue is muffled noises]

Because I need to be excited when I say his lines, but my excitement goes up slowly then it comes down.

Other than that coming up soon will be the full details about the voice acting auditions, which includes; the 4 main characters personality, direction, dialogue and their finalized model sheet. Also some of their expression sheets.

Project Deity Academy Blog #32

This is my 6th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project.
Last week I helped the group by doing some backgrounds. I actually helped out with only one background though. I was told to do the background for the front view of the classroom by the group producer Leigh. I did my best even though the background look easy to do but it was hard especially the chairs. I didn't finish the entire background but I did managed to at least did a bit of the background and this is what I had done:
Also today (April 3rd 2015) I have somehow finished another expression sheet of Nezha ...
It's on model but it has not been exaggerated so I'll have do re-draw these expressions again.
So this will mean that I might need to exaggerate them a bit but I am not sure if I should do it though.

- save some energy for tomorrow set of work
Please look forward to the next blog post.
