individual specialist project #194 - individual specialist project part 77

This is my 73rd blogspot post for our individual specialist project.

Continued from where I had left off ...

Today (November 23rd 2015) - Reflection Post

The design document
I had to restart the idea at the beginning since my first idea was for a fantasy rpg game
but I got bored with the idea halfway through.
As soon as I overcome that huddle I was able to think of another idea
to do for my project and that is how "Imperial chess" came to be.
The research
It took a while to find all the information that I need.
But to put it all together it was quite simple.
I started with the moodboards. Since I pretty much know
what the environments and style it's going to look like,
I was easy putting the images together. It goes for the same
when it comes to the characters, props and such.
I had a bit of a trouble working out the labeling for my Bibliography
since some of the images did not have a retrieved date on them.
I had to put the date of when i retrieved the images on it instead.
It was insteresting to find out information on it limitations
of a iphone, since that is the device I'm using for my project.

The kickstarter
When it comes to the making of the website,
I have to put all the research that I did all into one website.
Everything went smoothly expects for the pledge rewards
and the stretch goals. When I was working on those I have
a rough idea on what I want my rewards to be but I wasn't sure of
how to lay it all out. So I went to see some of the existing kickstarter projects
and have a glander on how they did theirs. From there I was able to move on with
the cost of the pledges and goals.

The pitch trailer
There were some issues that bothered me, when it comes
to the final export of the trailer. Especially with the sound volume.
Other issues involved are the screen size, to which I had to change them from
1136 x 670 to 1920 x 1080. I had issues with the export as well which take too long
to export from flash so I found another software (sviwel) to make it go faster and it did.

The animation (5 seconds animation)
I want to do more to the animation but
it will mean that I'll add more things to it.
In the idle pose animation I had to do 2 roughs
to get to the point that I want. In the first rough Cao cao
were moving his arms in a running posing to which he shouldn't be.
Instead he just need to move his body up and down.
The attack were a lot easier to do but I had some
troubles with the timing. In a attack animation the character attack
should be moving fast instead of moving slowly.
If I were to add more things to the animation
I will need to add how cao cao will be using his skills attack,
defend, using items and flee.

And that pretty much is it for my reflection post.
