individual specialist project Blog #118 - individual specialist project part 01 planning

Group projects for "Deity Academy" is finally over and now we can start on our individual specialist project.
This will be my 1st blog post about it. The project that I have chosen to do is "Concept design" for a RPG video game. So far this is what I am planning to do for it .

Story: Everything was peaceful in the town of Aerilon, until a disturbance was felt across the island of Ani-
nation. This disturbance has caused a lot of deaths and monsters popping out of nowhere.
To figure out the reason why this disturbance is happening a group of heroes set off on a journey to change the world for the better.
Category: Video game
Genre: RPG (Role playing game)
Outline: Single player RPG game
               - The premise of the game is to save the world from the clutches of evil
Game entitles: Non-player characters and monsters are the ones that populate the game.
                       - Main goal is to change the world for the better
                       - other goals may involve helping out a npc or party members with a side quest
Gameplay: Turn-based RPG
Player take turns to fight their opponent, can use special attacks to defeat boss or other monsters
Interface: helps the main character to maintain large amounts of information. This is mainly to do from buying weapons and armour to battling monsters. For example the player maybe doing these type of things ...

Interface used in Pokemon Omega Ruby when the player is buying some items in a shop

Interface used in Atelier Iris Etenra Mana 2 when the player is about to fight the monsters
These two pics are just some references idea for the interface to be used in the making of this game.

Target audience: Ages 25 to 30.
Game sepcs: 25 fps to 40 fps for ipad at 1024 X 768
Reason: This game teaches the importance of friendship and courage and many other things in between. What speacial about it will be the sidequests that tell the gamer more info about the character personalities. Some sidequests ties in with the main story.

Coming up title sequence design for the game
and some character concept (main character and party members)
who which might and might not be
used in the game

Project Deity Academy Blog #117

This is my 88th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project. Yesterday (August 6th 2015)
I continued working on the credits for the end of "Deity Academy". So far i have managed to finish all of it, with the timing been sorted out properly.

Here's the credits without the background

Here's the credits with the background

I also worked for a bit on the making of but all i can do was this ....

breaking down the animatic into the scenes and shots that i need.

Later back at home I did more exporting with the scenes that I have chosen to break down and they are as follows ...

Scene 02 shot 15

(I need to export that with roughs and colour)

Scene 02 shot 16

(all exported)

Scene 05 shot 02

(all exported)

Scene 05 shot 18

(all exported)

And today (7th August 2015) I compiled the clips that I exported earlier and put it all together into a filed called "the making of". To which I had to re-export 02 shot 15, here's a snapshot of what I had done ...

Later today I compiled the rest of scene 02 from shot 12 to shot 18, and it took me a long time to export from Adobe after effect.

Coming up soon will maybe some more
little workloads.

Project Deity Academy Blog #116 - Credits

This is my 87th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project. Today  (August 5th 2015)
I started working on the credits for the end of "Deity Academy". So far this is what I have done ...

The background colours (of course) are not final.
Horrace - the god eye teacher is blinking as one picture changes to another. The animation for the eye is done as well as the changing of the picture, and all that left to do is the list of names involved in the making of this film.

Coming up soon will be some text in the credits and maybe more
little workload.

Project Deity Academy Blog #115 (Backlog)

This is my 86th blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project. Yesterday  (August 4th 2015) I finished working on freeze frames of Ares and Anubis for scene 02 shot 10 and Nezha for Scene 02 shot 12 and put it all together into the shot.

After that I did some compositing for scene 04 with all parts exported out as a png sequence like so ...
Scene 04 shot 01

character only

background only

Scene 04 shot 02

character only

background only

Scene 04 shot 03

character only

background only

Here is Scene 04 complied together but all in a separate files...

The colours are off as usual so this is not the final colours
you will see in the film
As for the freeze frames I did some research for the gods
for Anubis, Ares and Nezha and it seems so far Nezha is the youngest of the trio
I also helped out for a bit for the credits as well,
where i listed name of the members and cast that was involved
in making this short film group project.

Coming up soon will be some more little workload things

It start off with this reference ...

Project Deity Academy Blog #112

This is my 83rd blog post about Deity Academy, my first ever group project. Today (July  31st 2015)
I have been working on freeze frames of Ares and Anubis for scene 02 shot 10, where Centeotl meets Ares and Anubis for the first time.
Today I focused on doing borders for the freeze frames. Doing that will make the freeze frames more appealing. Here are some designs of the borders...

First up, some plain ones ...

second, more fancier ones ...

here's the final border that bryn had chosen ...

and the final designed border for Nezha's freeze frame ...

today I was supposed to be doing some backdrop colours
but I had decided to scrap that idea and used the colours for the borders instead.
Because I think if the freeze frames were to have a backdrop colour
it'll make the character less appealing to which the characters were supposed
to be more appealing than the backdrop.
It's just a backdrop after all.

Coming up soon will be more borders for Ares and Anubis
some colour scheme might be done for them as well
